The Skin Studios Hove

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can be triggered and flare-up in many ways.

The most common triggers I have found that clients suffer with are:

~ Change in weather condition

~ Harsh sun exposure

~ Harsh wind exposure

~ Central heating

~ Using the wrong skincare and causing irritation

~ Over consuming alcohol

~ Over consuming spicy foods

~ Gut issues triggered by allergies or intolerances

WHAT SKINCARE IS BEST?

We recommend DMK Skincare line, the formulations of products in this line are specifically for inflammatory skin conditions like Rosacea.

DMK products treat skin at a cellular with Enzyme Treatments and Homecare to help restore health and strength back into the skin.

SKIN BENEFITS:

Having a consistent skincare routine AM & PM with DMK.

  • Reduction in redness

  • Takes down inflammation

  • Strengthens capillary wall

  • Restores cell health

  • Restores skin barrier function

  • Heals irritation

  • Reduces rough thick textured skin

  • Reduces skin sensitivity

  • Reduces scarring

TREATMENT:

Homecare and Treatments go hand in hand for real long lasting effects.

If you know The Skin Studios then you will know we swear by DMK Enzyme Therapy Treatments.

This treatment is a 90 minute one of a kind type of facial, it enhances optimal skin functioning by strengthening the skins immune system with true oxygen therapy.

The Enzyme mask is the key to it all, when applied to the skin it tightens, but not in a painful or uncomfortable way. This tightening effect treats skin at a cellular level, increasing blood circulation, oxygen and nutrients to the skin, stimulating skin cells giving you fresh plump and rejuvenated healthy-looking skin.

When treating Rosacea and putting it back into remission we recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments.

LIFESTYLE:

We always look at skin in a 360 way.

Treating skin topically and internally is vital for healthy skin. This comes down to what you do outside of the studio, here are some guidelines:

  • Never wash your face in a hot shower, opt for lukewarm water sink rinse.

  • If the central heating is on keep a bowl of water by your bed when you sleep this way you will lose less moisture from your skin.

  • Protect your skin with SPF and barrier cream in the wind.

  • Steer clear of Spicy foods

  • Reduce Alcohol consumption or cut out altogether until the skin is in remission.

  • Use only good quality skin like DMK

  • Essential oils and homemade products will irritate your skin think about the product PH. Try to avoid as much as possible.

  • Avoid saunas or anything that can make your skin get hot until the Rosacea is in remission.

DIET:

Get more Omega 3 Fatty Acids in your diet or in supplement form.

These essential fatty acids will help the body to create its own natural anti-inflammatory compounds, called prostaglandins, which help reduce the severity of rosacea. Oliy Fish like mackerel, anchovies, sardines, herring are a great source of Omega 3.

A deficiency of essential fatty acids and an impaired acid mantle (the skin's protective barrier) are two major causes of Rosacea, looking at internal health is key when flare-ups occur.

Rosacea can become aggravated by facial flushing and can worsen the condition. Some spicy foods and drinks can rapidly cause this flushing and are best to avoid or at least cutting down to a minimal.

Foods to avoid:

  • Chillies

  • Ginger

  • Spicy seasoning

  • Alcohol ( Red wine in particular can cause dilation of blood vessels)
