Now we are well on our way into Autumn!
It's important to relook at our skincare and make sure we are giving our skin everything it needs to be glowing and functioning optimally through these colder months approaching.
Here are some of our favourite Autumn skin tips:
1. TOPICAL HYDRATION
Keeping your skin hydrated is important for good skin health going into cooler days, central heating and harsh wind can really suck the moisture out of your skin.
To keep it feeling hydrated and supple lookout for moisture binding products like, IMAGE Hyaluronic Acid serum which retails for £80, this amazing product has the ability to hold and bind water in the skin making it the perfect Autumn & Winter daily skin treat.
2. CREAM CLEANSERS & BALMS
We love a good Cleansing routine at The Skin Studios Hove.
It is a vital step to remove any makeup and dirt from the day. Cleansing balms are perfect for dry skins to melt away any debris on the skin surface and nourish the skin, we love Vitage Essential Cleansing Balm, it's full of natural oils and even after washing off skin feels lovely and hydrated.
We also love Vital C hydrating Anti-Ageing Cleansing cream from IMAGE.
This Cleanser is ideal if you are someone concerned with fine lines/wrinkles and dry dehydrated skin. It emulsifies makeup and gently removes impurities while nourishing skin with essential antioxidants and vitamins.
It infuses skin with high levels of antioxidant vitamin C to brighten as it cleanses.
3. RETINOL ( VITAMIN A )
Retinol based serums and creams are our go-to in Autumn and Winter.
Repairing all that damage from the summer months, helping with uneven skin tone, pigmentation, lines/wrinkles, red marks from acne, smooths skin texture and brightens the complexion.
Retinol also helps promote a firmer look, healthier-looking skin, and naturally turns around concerns like dullness and rough texture. With retinol, you’ll see renewed, younger-looking radiance, a remarkably smoother appearance, and a noticeable feeling of firmness.
When first using Retinol keep use at a minimum and build up to using every night or every other overuse can cause a reaction and irritation on the skin surface.
Always stick with a lower % from 0.5 - 1.0 to start.
4. GO TO TREATMENTS
We have just launched our Autumn Winter go-to Enzyme Skin Peel at The Skin Studios.
This treatment from IMAGE has amazing effects on the skin. It removes damaged dead dry skin cells from the surface, reducing pigmentation, hydrating the skin, reducing lines/wrinkles smoothing skin texture, reducing redness and brightens skin tone!
Its an incredible treatment for all skin types. You can view this treatment HERE.
We also love our Hydrate & Glow Facial which incorporates nourishing face massage, muscle lifting device and a hydrating Vitamin C infusion. You can view this treatment HERE.
Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids are important to get into your diet all year around, through supplementation or from foods like; salmon, herring, sardines, flaxseeds, edamame, walnuts. They are essential for good skin health especially if you are someone with an inflammatory skin condition.
Eating lots of antioxidant-rich fruits like berries. Berries have powerful antioxidants that help fight free radicals, which can cause wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. So a daily handful of berries goes a long way. We like to sprinkle them on top of our porridge. :)
Carrots are a rich source of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps your body produce collagen, which is a protein that's vital to maintain your skin's elasticity. In fact, these crunchy delights are high in vitamin A which helps protect skin against free radical damage.
Keep up with Water intake as like we said before central heating can suck all the moisture out of your skin leaving it dehydrated. Having a few glasses a day is ideal. You can make a pot of herbal tea and sip away at it through the day if you're not keen on drinking cold water.
